THAILANDERS! HERE WE COME!!
Recently I decided to browse through the Internet to search for the various career options offered in oceanography. Many of my students who are excellent swimmers and great admirers of the marine life, inquired about the right career to be chosen, as they had passed their 12th grade with flying colors. This batch of seven( they proudly addressed themselves as the 'super-seven-sharks'), had always led the school in winning laurels in any Aquatic Competitions held across the Nation. The school was proud of these 'sharks'! (as we fondly accepted their nickname). The first task for the holidays, was to fix the career options without wasting time which would be followed by the more exciting part- the place to be visited during the holidays, as most commonly it was customary to go on any adventurous camp-annually. The memory of the previous year's 'River-rafting' was afresh in the little minds who were yearning to have another get-away.
As I browsed through the requirements in the field of Oceanography, I learned that oceanographers are individuals highly trained in one of the basic scientific disciplines: biology, physics, geology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or a combination of these fields. It is inevitable for an oceanographer to become deeply involved with all the sciences; the preparation for the same to be preferably started with concentration in one scientific discipline, gradually adapting to the marine environment.
Now was the turn for the next task : another memorable adventure to have an out-of-the-world experience. The option chosen was diving in Thailand. An excellent assortment of educational, eco-focused diving, hiking and snorkeling tours are part of the operations related to diving in Thailand.
